Homemade French Fries

Ingredients for Homemade French Fries Recipe

o    Potatoes peeled and cut into fingers 4 medium

o    Salt to taste

o    Olive oil 1 tablespoon

o    Tomato sauce

o    Fresh tomato puree 3 cups

o    Honey ¼ cup

o    Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

o    Dried ginger powder (soonth) ½ teaspoon

o    Black salt (kala namak) to taste

o    Salt to taste

o    Vinegar 1 teaspoon

o    Method

o    Step 1

o    Boil sufficient water in a deep non-stick pan. Add potato fingers and salt and cook till the potato fingers are almost done. Strain.

o    Step 2


Freeze the boiled potato fingers for 20-25 minutes. Transfer into a zip-lock bag and freeze again for 2-3 hours.

Step 3

To prepare tomato sauce, heat tomato puree in another deep non-stick pan. Add honey, chilli powder, dried ginger powder and black salt, mix and cook on low heat till the mixture reduces and thickens.

Step 4

Preheat air fryer to 180º C.

Step 5

Add olive oil to frozen potato fingers and toss well. Transfer into the air fryer basket.

Step 6

Put the basket into the preheated air fryer and air cook for 12-15 minutes.

Step 7

Add salt to the sauce and mix. Add vinegar, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl.

Step 8

Transfer the French fries onto the worktop, sprinkle salt over them and mix well. Transfer into a paper bag.

Step 9

Serve hot with tomato sauce.
