The Indian motorcycle market is growing at a
fast pace. With the arrival of affordable performance motorcycles in the
market, enthusiasts and youth get a wide choice. But there are still a few who
aspire for more and try to modify their motorcycles inspired by bigger
motorcycles. Let’s have a look at such wannabe motorcycles.
Bajaj Dominar – Ducati
Diavel
The Dominar shares
design traits with Ducati Diavel. To make it look closer to the inspiration,
Autologue Design from Pune has put out the marvellous “Domivel”. The Diavel
look comes from the new tank shrouds, a belly cover, a seat cowl and a
shortened tail. The motorcycle also gets a new tyre hugger. The Domivel
looks very neat and has been modified without taking away the character of the
motorcycle and yet giving it a different and unique look. The kit costs around
Rs. 20,000 and can be installed at home.
Bajaj Avenger –
Harley-Davidson Street 750
Harley-Davidson is the dream bike of many but
even their most affordable model costs five times more than the cheapest
cruiser available in India. Autologue customs have made a kit that adds
Harley-Davidson inspired parts to the Avenger and makes it look quite like the
Street 750. The conversion kit comes with bolt-on parts such as headlamp cowl,
engine shroud, seat and the tail kit. The Avenger becomes a single-seater with
the tail kit, but it can be removed easily whenever the user feels like using
the pillion seat. With the kits, the Avenger gets a silhouette of the Harley
Davidson Street 750 and looks much more premium.
Bajaj Pulsar – Ducati
Scrambler
The Ducati Scrambler gets an eye-catchy design.
Here is a modification job based on a Bajaj Pulsar 150 that makes it look like
a Ducati Scrambler. With the changes, the Pulsar resemble the Scrambler quite a
bit but you can still make out the donor bike. The modification job adds a new
customised tank, new rear fender, a new seat, a new battery box and a custom
exhaust. The paint job is what brings the bike closer to the Ducati Scrambler.
Royal Enfield Himalayan –
Ducati Multistrada
The Royal Enfield Himalayan has become quite
popular on the Indian market as it is the most affordable adventure motorcycle.
However, it is nowhere near the likes of Ducati Multistrada or BMW RGS series.
This modifying job takes the Himalayan closer to the Ducati Multistrada but
only in the visual department. The bike gets a half Enduro inspired fairing, a
new visor and a custom paint job that is inspired by the Multistrada.
Mahindra Mojo – Ducati
Monster
The Mahindra Mojo is an underrated long
distance touring bike that did not become very popular on the market. Here is a
Mojo that has been converted to look like a Ducati Monster, which is a street
bike. The Mojo gets a new headlamp set-up with LED bars on it. The tank also
gets additional shrouds that make it look quite aggressive. To make it familiar
to the Ducati, the modder has given a matte black and red paint scheme to the
bike, which does the job well.
Hero Impulse – KTM ADV
The Hero Impulse, the most affordable ADV bike in India has been
discontinued from the market due to its unpopularity. However, the bike had a
lot of potentials. Here is a modification job that shows the Impulse dressed
like a KTM Adventure bike. The bike gets a custom paint job that has been
executed with attention to detail. The custom paint job also includes painted
cycle parts to red.
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 – Indian Scout
Royal Enfields are one of the most modified motorcycles in
India. The bikes are generally modified into Harley-Davidson inspired designs.
Here is a Thunderbird 350 that has been transformed to look like an Indian
Scout. The custom job includes a customised fuel tank, customised fenders, a
new set of wheels, a new handlebar and a headlamp assembly to give it a real
premium look.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 to
Kawasaki Ninja H2
Bajaj and Kawasaki have had a long relationship on the Indian
market. Here is a Bajaj Pulsar RS200 trying to be the world’s fastest
production superbike, the Ninja H2. The bike gets a full body fairing similar
to the Ninja H2, new tank shrouds, new seats and a green highlighted frame to
mimic the superbike. The bike also gets a customised exhaust.
Hero Karizma – Ducati
Hypermotard
The Hero Karizma lived a long life of fame. The flagship
motorcycle of Hero MotoCorp was regarded as one of the best touring
motorcycles. Here is a Hero Karizma that has been transformed into a Ducati
Hypermotard. The bike gets parts from various other motorcycles like Bajaj
Pulsar 200 NS, Yamaha FZ-S, Yamaha R15 and Honda Unicorn. The chassis has been
modified to give it a true Ducati look. The engine remains stock.
Hero CBZ – Royal Enfield Continental GT
This extremely good looking bike is based on the
first-generation Hero CBZ. The bike has been altered to become a cafe racer and
a rather good looking cafe racer. The bike’s design is inspired by the World
War time Spitfire fighter jets but looks quite like the Royal Enfield
Continental GT cafe racer. The bike gets a new sleeker fender, a new headlamp,
new forks and a customised tank.
